Wind will be out of the north until about 9am so I will hunt my favorite stand until then.

With a north wind I think I will just take the screen out of the kitchen window and shoot this spike that is eating the apples off from my trees.

I'm in Fenton and will be hunting behind my house tomorrow and at my inlaws this weekend if the wind direction forecast does not change. Been a long wait, here we go!

Reply to Typical2's question about deer in the Greenville area. Yes our deer numbers are still pretty low since the EHD hit in the summer of 2012. We've seen a fair number of fawns with the does so hopefully guys can use some restraint and let the herd build up for a few years.

GOOD LUCK everyone!!! It's looking like today's weather should be nice. This weekend however... Might be a bit more difficult. At least where I'll be hunting. Close to home today, but I planned on camping in Antrim county this weekend.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.

Does anybody know.. If I buy my tag (NR) after the season starts, can I hunt the same day that I buy it, or is there a waiting period involved ?

Chuck C you can hunt the same day you buy your license here in Michigan.  It is raining acorns out right now in Osceola county

Behind our house tonight was dandy! Had 6 deer all in my new food plot eating Clover. The yearlings were in my kill zones. 1 button buck as well. No bigger bucks in my mix. Was fun to draw/aim/anchor on deer again though just for the practice. Also saw 20 turkeys!! But couldn't even hardly blink without eyes on me. 18 feet up,and they still catch you instantly.  rat'

This is what happens when a fat doe kicks the arrow that just put two holes in her! A good way to start the season.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.
