Gorgeous pics and nicely told.  Thank you.

PS.  And you only took 30 minutes to tell it.  :D

Thanks to all for the kind words.

This is very beautiful country and without all the numbers of hunters you might expect for public land.

Brent, yes I keep a pad in camp to record each day's events.  BTW, it's sometimes tough to remember the camera shots but I always kept it handy.  Unfortunately, when I had those encounters with the four separate bears, I failed to take any pics since my hands were full of my bow anticipating a shot.

Nice reading! BTW, I have seen that ankle before but it was attached to my leg! OUCH!

Great read Lon, thanks for taking the time to share it. Fantastic pics too...except for the one of the black & blue ankle.

Correction:   :o   I identified that noisy and annoying little squirrel as a "Douglas" but have been informed that it is actually a "Red" squirrel.  The Douglas squirrel in Washington is found only in the western half of the state and the Cascade Mountains.

Thanks to mountain man Wayne Fontenelle for pointing this out...and I guess I owe an apology to the Douglas squrrel too.
