1fat doe was all that came around yesterday afternoon. She didn't get quite close enough for a shot. It was a little warm but it was nice to be out.

Spooked every deer in Fulton county sneaking back to my ground blind opening morning.  Seen a lot of tree rats but no deer while in the blind.  Goin out Saturday morning hopefully the deer will cooperate haha.

Saw no deer Thursday evening.   Hot with a front moving in.  Lightning encouraged me out of my tree around 7:00.

Saw 3 does. I'm hunting on ground and 2 came in behind at under 6 yards. Couldn't get swung for a shot. Wishing the wind would lay because I'm back for more

Hugged my tree in the wind until noon today.   Saw two doe.  A friend was skunked on another property, but, saw two dandy bucks chasing each other in a hayfield.   This was at noon in Monroe county.

I saw probably more deer this morning than I ever have in one sit. I center punched a tree shooting at a nice 8. Licking my wounds now and heading back in the morning.

Seen 2 slick heads and a small buck this morning but no shot was offered.  I agree with Acollins on the lovin the cool weather.  Had sleet and light snow flurries up in Fulton county where I have been hunting.  Hopefully next weekend I will be able to get my 1st trad kill ever.

Oh I almost forgot.  I am all ready seeing scrapes on the farm in Fulton county that I hunt.  Is anyone else seeing scrapes or what not all ready?

Ok. So I go out on Fri. night. I've spoken with Rob and he has seen the aerial photo of the area that I hunt and he has suggested that I go to the far Northwest corner of the property.

There had been a cool spot back there where a large blown down tree stayed propped up on it's stump that was several feet tall. Another hunter had at some point leaned a narrow metal ladder against the tree and had evidently used it as an elevated stand. Well over this past winter the tree had finally fallen over leaving the stump half rotted out with the opening facing the woods.

My husband had planted corn at this farm this year. There are a few acres of woods in the Northwest area of this property with a creek that runs just yards south of the property line. Corn pretty much surrounds it.

After trying another spot and realizing the wind would not be in my favor I decided to try sitting inside the rotted stump. So I pulled some of the large chunks of punky wood out and put my tripod stool in it. It was pretty cozy in there.

This is the stump 2 weeks after shooting the buck. There was not this much leaf cover on the ground 2 weeks ago.

One nice thing about this place is that you can be a little noisy and not hurt anything much because it is right beside I-69 and the traffic noise is constant. It makes for a less than tranquil hunt but I think I tend to block it out.

I pull my cell phone out of the baggy (due to chance of rain) and work on my "farm".
