Saw 2 bucks fighting in a field right off 37 just north of Bloomington last night.  Lots of deer in fields too.  Should be good this weekend.  I'm hunting Parke county tonight and tomorrow morning.

Been hunting ravina woods just south of Martinsville off 67.  Have not seen 1.  This is my first season traditional so it  could be my choice of cover.  Have seen some good sign though.  Once gun season hits, this spot will be trash.

Had a brute of a buck come past me on a White Oak ridge this morning at 10:00. Cold, dark and windy with this front coming in seemed perfect for a good buck to be on his feet.

He came up the ridge at a fast trot (definitely knew where he was going).  I bleated with my mouth twice to stop him, but, he was about 25 yards out and behind my tree enough where he stopped to cause interference with my lower limb.

He then trotted in the direction he had been heading, I grunted and snort sneezed to no avail.

I have a 165" buck on the wall, and this one is bigger.  Can't wait to get another opportunity at him.

Good luck to you all, that magical time is upon us!

No deer last night but I did manage to kill a nice squirrel.  Saw nothing but wind and rain this morning.

Things are picking up everywhere.  I have the next two weeks off with nothing to do but chase deer around.  I better stock up on some Snicker bars for the pack.

About the same.  Lots of small guys out and about.

I had a pretty nice 8 pointer in a couple days ago.  A buddy of mine saw another nice deer this afternoon with a doe.  This little front moving through tomorrow may stir something up.

My buddy Jeff killed his first buck with a bow yesterday.  He picked up a recurve last spring and was able to seal the deal last night.  We're up in Northeast indiana

Was up a tree at 9:30 this morning and hunted until dark.

At 11am I had a doe walk by with her mouth open looking behind her.   I got ready.  Minutes later her fawn joined her.

Another few minutes later, a dandy mainframe 10 with branched g2s followed.  I have several pictures of him and have seen him once this season.  It looked like he would give me a 15 yard shot, but, it didn't work out that way.

Instead, I watched him shadow the doe for about twenty minutes before the three moved on down the ridge. I bleated, grunted and snort wheezed at him and while he showed interest, he wouldn't leave the doe.  Reminded me of a stubborn gobbler!

He was within 30-35 yards for awhile, but, l held out for a closer shot that never came.

Fast forward to Noon.   The same buck came back through with the doe and fawn at the base of the ridge I was hunting.

That was all the action from today, what a great day!

Skycheif sounds like a fine day. I saw three little bucks today. A spike a fork and a six pointer. The big boys side stepped me somewhere. Maybe tomorrow.

Here's my election day buck. Light, but steady rain made for a good evening hunt. Saw 3 different bucks before this one stopped to sniff where a doe had just urinated in front of my stand just a couple of minutes before. Approximately 25 yd shot, less than 50 yd recovery. Fox Recurve,53@28,Zwickey Eskimo head.

Nice deer elk dude! Not much happening today for me. Full moon coming soon led to only 3does in the field just before dark
I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6
