Early Season Doe
« on: October 02, 2014, 06:30:00 PM »

Got this old doe this week with a Take Down Black Widow Longbow here in Arkansas.

Shot this deer out of a ladder stand at a persimmon tree that I shot my first animal with a longbow 40 years ago and more than just a few animals have fallen at this old tree.

Used the Black Widow with a 850 gr. arrow that I made from a Hickory shaft with a two blade double bevel Zwickey head from Three Rivers.

Funny how places become so special to you when you have years to look back on what they have been to you over the years. This old tree has only failed to produce persimmons once in all the years that I have hunted it and it is a hot spot in the early season.Mike

Nice looking doe Mike congratulations.  It's really nice to go back to places that remind us of our begining days of our hunting. We have a lot to be thankful for when we sit on stand and think back on all of the places we have hunted since. Hope you continue to have a great season
