I find some statistics to be quite interesting at times. My youngest son and I recently participated in one of the few traditional archery only hunts that I am aware of, in the Trout Creek Mts. of SE Oregon. This particular hunt only has a 12 percent success rate. Of the harvested bucks, only 14 percent are 4 point racks (western count!) or better. My son and I were fortunate enough to both harvest bucks, and both bucks were of the 4 point or better class (both P&Y qualifiers). If my antiquated math skills are correct, we had exactly (more or less) a 2.8 chance in 10,000 of pulling this off. I hope that by the time my son is my age (a little better than 1/2 century) he will realize just what an amazing hunt we had!
