Sometimes as the season goes along, every spare minute goes to getting in to your favorite spots and time is at a premium.
Don't forget to take a little time to practice and keep your edge.
The Ole' Bowhunter and I took a morning to go out and stump shoot this past week. It was a relaxing morning with some great shots and even better company.
BTW- John really knows how to use that black widow.

Great pics! During hunting season, on the days I'm not out in the woods, I step out back and fling at least one arrow into the target to make sure I've still got it. That one shot may be all you get and it needs to count.

I have been guilty of that in the past; this year so far so good. Switching to traditional definitely makes it important for me.

Great reminder...I am guilty of it. Shoot every day preparing for the season and then slack off when it gets here.

Sounds like a good time Ken. Excellent advice also. I always make sure I practice and practice from an elevated position if I plan to hunt from a tree stand. The minds eye needs to stay tuned and crisp so to speak. If possible or practical, a few shots right from your blind or stand can dial in a boat load of confidence. Couldn't agree more.

I have to say Ken and I had a great morning enjoying each others company and shooting at whatever caught our fancy. No doubt, we often get so charged-up about hunting and trying to tie our tag on a deer that we often forget about practicing our shooting skills. I always carry a judo-tipped arrow in my hunting quiver just so I can shoot at a stump or two when I get the urge. One thing is for sure, Ken is a great shot with that Schafer recuve.

Great reminder. I have been guilty of not practicing enough during season. This year I wake up a little earlier and use the 10 minutes of daylight before I have to leave for work to practice shooting.

I stump shoot on my way out of the woods every hunt. This way I am shooting on a regular basis at undetermined distances.
