I.might be wrong ( won't be the first time ) but, marino wool is smart wool.
I looked up Bridgedae wool socks, the heavy wool is still only 51% wool, that might be why they last a long time as other fabrics will resist friction better than wool.
I have found marino wool ( smart wool ) to be very good, but when it gets really cold, I put on my alpaca wool socks. Both of these are 100% wool, and have been worn a lot and they show no wear. I'm sorry but I can't remember the name of the company. I can tell you I get the from the old timer sock guy who works the various outdoor shows.
