Handicap access hunting?

I've been laid up in bed with a subluxed hip, and it's looking like it will be the chair for hunting season.  How is the access in your neck of the woods?  I'm not going to give up on hunting even though walking looks just about done for me.  

I know I have a few disabled hunting camps available up the road.  My own land is gonna be a severe problem, but I don't have to quit hunting altogether.

So is there hunting for handicapped hunters in your area?  I might be interested in traveling to try it next year, after all.

Many of our management areas have handicap access only areas. Hope you can get out and enjoy some hunts.

Dang half, I sure do hate to hear that.  I have read quite a few of your posts, and I will say that you don't seem like the type of fellow to let this slow you down.  I will admit that I don't know much about that kind of thing, I hunt a lot of public land for spring turkeys here in Western NC, and I don't remember special places or access for wheelchairs, but they may well exist in your neck of the woods.

If I were you I would call the local fish and game office and talk the situation over with them, my bet is they will help you out. Best of luck, be sure to keep us posted on how everything goes.

Half, good idea to check with your game system. Here in Mo. For the drawing hunts folks with disabilities,get an automatic draw and sometimes special access to roads usually closed.

Unfortunately I am in same situation it sucks but got to live with it . In Pennsylvania we are able to get a permit to hunt from a vehicle I was able to get onto an ATV and set it up to carry my bow and a quiver attached to the back rest.
I then found a area that had some deer sign and had my son hang some camo cloth for a background and a little bit of brush up front.
I actually surprised myself the first year out by having deer with in 20 yards but I was caught off guard the 2 times this happened but was happy with the first years results.
I hunted this way for 7 years , missed 1 the second year and was able to score on 2 other years.
The most important point I found was sitting dead still.
I have not been in the woods the last 3 years because of the physical problems it causes me at this time but am always thinking of trying again.
I hope that you can find some way to still enjoy your hunting spirit!!!!!
