This morning I was out and was fortunate enough to get my first kill. It is a decent 8 point.  I shot it high in the lungs and it went straight down but didn't die right away, so thinking i it him in spine I hurry up and put another arrow and in the panic I shot and completely missed the deer. So I franticly get another arrow only to drop it to the ground. I take a deep breath to calm myself and finally shot another arrow right through the heart.  After we skinned it I was able to see my first shot hit both lungs. I have no idea why it did what it did. I felt pretty bad about it even tho my shot was a good shot still made me feel bad. Now if I can just figure out how to get a pic on here.

Go ahead and hang your bow up for a while. That's a doozy for a first for sure.

Congrats!!

The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
