Originally posted by Barry Wensel: Back in the mid-90's TBM had a subscription contest. Whoever sold the most subscriptions got to hunt with the entire staff of TBM, with Gene and I doing the guiding on the Cottonwood Whitetails Outfit in eastern Montana. It was won by Cory Mattson from N.C. Early the very first day Larry filled his tag. As I walked up to him and his buck he had a smile on his face and said, "I'm out." I started to give him some jovial static about not waiting for a bigger buck when he cut me short with a grin saying, "Hey.. this is the one I wanted." It was right then I knew what kind of man he was. He wasn't there for any kind of show. He was there for the fun of the hunt with good friends. Size didn't matter. Rest in peace my friend. Prayers to all his family with love and thanks. bw aka ub
