For all the guys coming on Saturday, it would be nice to see a fresh wild hog on the spit from one of the guys going on Thursday/Friday.  No pressure or anything.  :)
I am definitely into the fresh meat:  Kill it, cut it, cook it, eat it.  Same day if possible.

I have some rolling targets that I was planning on bringing.  They are rather fun also.

I have compiled some hunting maps for this venture of ours.  I have them in PDF format.  If any body would like them (their are 4, made for 11x17 size paper), I can email them to you.  They are in PDF format and about 2MB a piece so you will need a fast internet connection to download them.  I will also be bringing some hard copies to the hunt.
If you would like a map email me.  [email protected]

I do not see a need for bright clothing doing drives with archery gear.....but will see what others think.

yes.....plates, bread, beans, cups, chips, spices, sauces, smookers, BBQ grills, charcoal, aluminium foil, onion, taters, etc,etc,etc...........

We will need all of those things.

thanks

I have a smoker/grill I can also bring with some applewood I believe have to check at home. It is electric though will bring if people think they can put it to use. I guess I could just use it to grill up a ton of onions etc.

Afraid I have no wild game to bring with me but I follow directions pretty good, tell me what we need.

As far as bright colors, y'all got no fear with me, I can't hit what I aim at anyway.

I don't have any critters to throw on the fire either but I do have a couple of coolers I could fill with be.., er...frosty adult beverages if any one has any requests. If you don't have any requests you'll just end up with whatever I bring.

The blaze orange may not be a bad idea.  Remember, we are on public land.  I am not wearing it to sit by a feeder, but if we start up a drive, I may throw some on.

Well, bottom line, I guess I won't be doing a lot of huntin with all the activities going on.  I am definitely taking a trophy stump out!

Well...I got a computer at home so I can keep up better with the Gang!!!

Mobiltoy and I put out 3 more feeders this weekend.  He was gonna put out a couple more today.  That makes 11 we have and maybe a couple more today.  That is @600-700# of corn we have put out in the past month or so.

Now......This is the ?????  Several of my buddies and I have been talking about how to hunt and the most effective way to see hogs and get shots.  Here is what we think.  The hogs in the area of the feeders should be more concentrated......BUT if we get out there with 20++++ guys Friday evening we are afraid and probably WILL spook the hogs just by the amount of human traffic/scent!!!!!  Most of the hog activity that we have baited is in an area about 3 miles across as the crow flies.  We feel that we should hunt some other areas of hogs and MAYBE on the VERY edge if any of the main area we have baited.   UNTILL we get a chance to still hunt/push the hogs in there Saturday morning.  The feeders are on demand type so the timing of hogs hitting them is not predictable since they can hit em anytime. There are hogs elsewhere but they probably wont be concentrated like they are in the core baiting/feeding area.  One thing I have found in my experience with hog is they can MOVE a good distance with pressure......and I dont feel that we should do that untill EVERYONE is here an ready to hunt Saturday morning.  I think that hunting the other areas Friday evening we WILL move hogs around just because of the number of guys hunting. Now....after the Saturday morning push/drive anything goes.  It is my experience that evening hunting is a LOT LOT more productive than morning hunting. I want this to be a good hunt for the most guys possible. What are everyone elses thoughts and ideas???

Also I am going to make a HUGE batch of dirty rice with deer and pork to feed everyone on Friday night after we hunt.  Then the wild game cook on Saturday. I CAN gurantee everyone gets FULL and has a great time!!!!

thanks

Citori you are a class act and it sounds like we're going to have a great time.  I can't wait for this weekend...  Please post a list of items you might need that haven't been secured yet.  Other than the wild game what else do you need for either nights meal?  Charcoal, lighter fluid, tinfoil, corn, taters, onions... we are looking forward to the hunt but don't want to take advantage of anybody's generosity.

As far as the hunting goes, it sound like you've got a pretty good  plan in mind.  There must be a large amount of corps land around the lake and the further we can spread out on Friday evening -- the better!  Drives on Saturday, thru the core areas should produce some shots.  No matter what -- it's all gonna be good!

I've already come to the conclusion that the real fun is going to be in the fellowship, the hog killing will just be icing on the cake...  I'm looking forward to getting together with all of you!
