Clicker on a hunting bow?
« on: October 22, 2014, 09:06:00 PM »
Just put a clicker on my longbow and am really impressed with the improvement of my shooting. Wondering how it will work for hunting.........is there a way to quiet it a little or does game even notice it? Any info would be appreciated.   :archer:

You can quiet it down, I wrapped electrical tape around mine and it is really quiet.  I killed 4 deer and a hog with mine last year. I have used a clicker for 3 years and never had a deer hear it.

the tape works.  I used to hunt with one, and still shoot it a bit from time to time to keep my form in check.  killed a dandy bull with one on as well...
is it September yet??

I just put one on mine and put mole skin on pretty much all the metal moving parts.

It seems pretty quiet

Just went thru the quieting exercise. I used sticky back soft Velcro on both sides. It was too quite. I could neither feel nor hear it. So I took the Velcro off one side and now its quiet but it can still be heard and felt.

I heard it's the last thing the deer hear!

At one time I used electrical tape. Worked great in Louisiana, but when I went to KS and it got cold I couldn't hear or feel the click. These days I use moleskin.

I've used tape ,moleskin, and a band aid. They all work!

My target panic is so bad I've never got my clicker to click on a deer therefore they never hear it! Lol
