What riser wood with coco?
« on: October 27, 2014, 02:24:00 PM »
I am having Jim Neaves at Centaur build a bow for me. I bought some awesome cocobolo veneers from Stalker bows and am in the process of deciding on the riser wood. May do an all coco bow or maybe half coco and half something very dark (ebony, wenge) for the palm part of the handle. Any ideas or pics would be appreciated.

Thanks, Kevin

Bocote goes well with coco.  I like coco risers with a bocote accent stripe or flare.  I also like black ebony with coco as an accent.  Another one that does well is bloodwood.

I have to agree almost anything goes with a nice piece of cocobolo, yet I'm personally always partial to mac ebony combinations

Here is my Lynx riser. I am not sure if it is Cocobolo as I got it at the swap meet at D.H. The previous owner was not sure. This one has the black micarta.
