check out my beautiful turkey mount!

some of you may remember that I got a good turkey with my RER Retro back last fall. I was even lucky enough to be up top as TG member of the month once. here's a pic of the turkey.
I got my mount back yesterday, and wow! it was done by a friend of mine, who put an amazing amount of care and talent into it. he nailed my vision perfectly! I told him, "imagine the presidential seal, without the head." he carved the arrow point out of bone, the feet will hold an arrow (or not. my choice). I couldn't be happier, and wanted to share it with you guys. hope to get it hung up tonight.

a biologist that saw the bird said it was an older bird. 3/4" spurs, and a 9-inch beard.
I shot him with my Retro, with a good ol' Magnus I on the business end of a GT shaft. I center punched his heart, and he didn't take a step. died right where I hit him.

guys, the attention to detail is insane. he even put the feet on hinges, so you can flip them up and see the dirt on the feet! he said, "turkeys always have dirt on their feet", so he applied dirt, and sealed it with a clear seal, and you can actually flip the feet up and see the dirt.
I'm just amazed.
