Really liking these inserts
« on: October 30, 2014, 02:19:00 PM »
I shot carbons for most of the year but went to a 2016 a few weeks ago.  With the broadheads and broadhead adapters tip weight was 145 grains.  It shoots well but every once in a while I got a bit of wag in the tail end.  A 125 tip does not suffer from such but I do not want to switch broadheads.
I decided to try the broadhead adapters that 3Rivers sells for aluminum and carbon arrows to replace the threaded insert.
I got them today and with my Zwickey heads they weigh in within just a few grains lighter than the  arrows with the 125 tips.  Still shooting a 475 grain arrow but without the occassional tail wag.
I wish I would have tried these sooner.

Are you talking about the glue on broadhead adapter, which makes it no longer a screw in broadhead?
Never measure the mountain until you have reached the top, then you will see how low it is.

That us it.  Only bad part is cleaning the paint from inside the head.  They nicely git the 5/16 EskiLites
Hope to test durability next week.
