So I got to shoot the sitka alittle and WOW. I have to say I am a blacktail bow fan and was very curious about this shorter version when the new site went up. After some testing Blacktail delivers as expected. I didn't have too much time so I didn't do the side by side with the 19 inch riser elite, nor did I take my phone out for pics, only time for a few arrows and I wanted to focus on getting to know her and tune a bit. Some points that I do want to focus on for those that may be curious
1. the grip: excellent, if your a previous blacktail owner you'll find the sitka keeps a familiar shape providing consistent hand placement. if there was a blacktail challenge and you had to grip the elite or sitka blind folded, i doubt you would know the difference, assuming the same style that is.
2. gloss finish: excellent job, I find a good high gloss finish can be hard to find but was delivered here. especially nice with the T2 upgrade.
3. Draw: Again this was an area of much curiousity for me with this new shorter model. but until I do the comparison with the elite VL, I am inclined to think the new limb design offers a smoother draw making the bow an overall pleasure to shoot. Didn't notice any finger pinch either at 29in.
Lastly, this bow really did perform. I don;t have a chrono, but this bow at 44@29 delivered a hard hitting arrow and was generating good shot placement prior to much tinkering on my part, which my "help" may only make things worse. So far the sitka is a pleasure to shoot and performs at the caliber I have come to expect from my snakebit.
A few more pics I just took showing off a few more details. Next time I will get some out in the sun which really makes her shine. Sorry about some of the pics being a bit fuzzy.
