Looking for a Michigan Traditional hunting mentor
« on: October 31, 2014, 11:40:00 AM »
Hello fellow Trad members,

I usually hang out in Trad History and Collecting threads. I live in Alaska but grew up in Michigan. I have a unusual request for my fellow Michiganders ... My sisters grandson is a young trad bowhunter that lives in the Brighton area. The problem is that he has no one to learn from or to hunt with. He is a really nice young man, 12 years old. Any trad hunters that have an interest in mentoring this young man please PM me to establish a connection. I would hope for Traditional only as that is what his interest is in. Thanks in advance for taking this into consideration.
Have a great day.
Vince

Sorry I don't live close but there are several that do. You should post this on the Michigan Longbow page here on TG

Also check out the Michigan Traditional Bow Hunters section as well.  Many great members belong to that group.

Also the Land-O-Lakes Bowmen in Fenton Michigan is not that far from Brighton.  Many members are trad shooters and they also offer the JOAD program for young archers.  Google them, they have a website.

Jim Belcher of Sky Archery/Belcher bows is in Brighton, he may be able to hook him up with someone...or better yet Jim may help him his self.
