Who all here is from the Hoosier state!!?? I feel all alone in my small town using traditional gear. Any guys close to the Lafayette area that knows of any traditional shoots or even a shop that has a clue?? I talk recurve and the bowshops look at me like I'm confused on what bow hunting is...

I don't know where Lafayette is but with Cloverdale in IN, there has got to be a bunch of trad guys up your way!
Good lucking hooking up with a few of them!
Bisch from TX!
EDIT: Cloverdale is 1.5hrs straight south of you. I bet if you contacted someone with the Cloverdale Conservation Club, they could hook you up!

Cloverdale is about 2 hrs south of me. What is there as far as traditional archery goes? I've yet to meet anyone up my way that uses traditional gear and I've been hunting whitetails for years with a compound before switching to trad this year.

They are around. You just have to find them. When the 3D shoots start up after the first of the year, go to them in your area. Go early and just wait for the trad guys to show up, and walk up and introduce yourself. You might also be able to find some local guys by asking at any archery shops in your area.
Like I said, they are there, you just got to finf them.

I'm in Mooresville, just south west of indy. I don't know any trad guys personally, but I don't do any shoots or anything like that. Cloverdale does have trad only shoots so I'm sure ther are plenty out there

I'm near Winamac which is about 50 miles NW of Lafayette.
Since my son moved out of town, I'm the only stick bow shooter around here that I know of.
It doesn't sound like you're too far from me. Feel free contact me. We can do some shooting sometime.
I've got 4 acres to shoot on. Nothing fancy but it doesn't cost anything.

Archers come from all over the country (and beyond?)to shoot at Cloverdale. I don't know how many of them are local.

I am a little NW of Indy. The Cloverdale Traditional Nationals is a great shoot!
There are a few other trad only shoots. I shoot at Nancy's Broken Arrow 3D shoots pretty often. They are located just South of Cloverdale. They are not trad only, but usually the trad folks group up and shoot together.
PM me and maybe we can come up with a plan! There are quite a few trad shooters in Indiana.

I'm from God's country here on the Wabash River. Cloverdale has shoots once a month, as does Bloomington.

"Gods country" is here on the Tippecanoe river. LOL
Cloverdale or Bloomington is a long haul. However, if all goes well, I'm headed down to the Bloomington area next week to try to get in a couple days of hunting before gun season opens.

I am from Indy. I don't know anyone real close to you. The Indiana Trad Bowhunters Association will start its shoots for 2015 in January. It's an easy drive down I-65.

Huntingburg here. Cloverdale is defiantly worth checking out.
I have to drive an hour or more to hang out with anybody that shoots trad and I order most of my supplies online.

I'm just north of Terre Haute and am fortunate that there about a dozen trad shooters close by. Cloverdale is definitely worth your time and the Compton Gathering in Berrien Springs MI isn't too bad a drive for you. Mike
