Removing blood from feathers

Does anyone have good suggestions on how to get blood out of feathers?  

I've got an arrow that I've worked on with rubbing alcohol, but the feathers still won't fluff up and there's still junk in them.

I just re-fletch.

Dish soap and hot water.  Shake them dry or spin them rapidly between the palms of your hands.  Apply some type of waterproofing, either dry fly float solution of the powder stuff.

Warm soapy water. If the feathers are messed up when dry steam them over a tea kettle and they will go right back to shape.

Use Hydrogen Peroxide Spray it on   Works like magic.   Also used to find blood trail since once HP hits blood it turns foaming white. Also great for cleaning your bloody knife after gutting a deer and also your bloody hands.

Dawn dish soap and water, then dry them.  Good luck!

Might have to try this myself. Both the washing with soap and water, and the tips on peroxide. Thanks gents!

I vote for the warm, soapy water and a soft brush to get them clean and then the tea kettle steam to return them to shape.

Worked great on one arrow that passed through a small pig. The pig turned the other arrow into a 2-piece and I didn't bother with it.

Warm soapy water what I do also. I do not try and get them spotless .

Bladepeek, that's what happened to mine - put it thru a pig.  

Thanks for the responses.  I can say that rubbing alcohol doesn't do it.

I think I can save this fletch now.

I have a jet spray naozzle on my garden hose. I just blast it off then let them dry and stand the feather back up. Those arrows usually go in my practice quiver and a brand new one goes back in my hunting quiver.

cold water is actually better for blood...just don't mash on the fletching while they're wet...

X 2 ...works for me to get out fish blood and my blood from clothes

I wash them as soon as possible with cold water then shake them dry as possible. I will steam them back into shape the next day,been doing it this way for some time with great results,hope this helps.

Might not be a good idea on feathers, but I've used meat tenderizer on vanes to get rid of stubborn bloodstains.
