Tree stand advice for oak tree
« on: November 16, 2014, 11:10:00 AM »
I'm hoping someone has a recommendation for a tree stand.  Here in California most of the trees are oaks. Oaks do not have perpendicular limbs or trunks.  They angle every which-way.  So I need a tree stand that can adjust to different angles.  Also needs to be light enough to pack in.  Suggestions?

A Lone Wolf can accomodate some lean in a tree, but the best I have ever found is a Climax.

Google Woodsey Too treestands.

They are made for crooked old oak trees!

Pat, last I knew they were still available online but that had been awhile ago. I just tried Google and couldn't find them, so maybe out of business again.

Like Whip said....the Lone Wolfs will....front to back lean with platform adjustment, and sideways lean with "batwing" offset bracket.....I like mine.

Yeah, I know your trees out there, I haven't used one of these myself but have looked at them, I think they were designed with the kind of trees your talking about in mind.

Aerohunter tree saddle will handle most any tree but it is a little different then hunting form a normal treestand.  I actually prefer shooting form it.

Thanks you all for all of the information. I have been looking online at each of these suggestions. I do have the arrow Hunter tree saddle for sale. It did not work for me. Leaves me hanging out in the breeze on a slanted trunk.I especially like the Twisted Timber Tree Stand.  Great price and reviews.  It seems to fit exactly what I am looking for. Thanks again. Scott
