Kansas 2014! What a trip!

Just got home Sat from my annual 10 day trip to the "Land of Oz". Shared camp with my brother-in-law and good buddy, Darren. We hunted hard and ate well, as usual. My last trip to Ks in the spring was kind of a downer. You can check that thread out for yourself, if you like.
http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=137834;p=1
. Thank the Lord above this trip couldn't have been better. I started off the show with a nice big ole doe. Man, these deer are big for a southern boy!
Darren followed a day or so later with his first traditional kill with a Whip I picked up for him on Tradgang! How cool is that? Perfect shot, too.
More to come. Gotta work a little!

Don't work too long!
Nice doe, and a great trad start to your buddy! Kansas has been showing up quite regularly this fall!
Looking forward to the "rest of the story".

Alright Tim, got a free minute. My brother-n-law, Dennis was feeling a little left out. He was seeing lots of deer, but no good shots. The weather had turned from comfortable to downright cold!!! If you checked out the thread link above, Dennis is the guy who had the broadhead shoved through his leg. He had promised me he was going to kill a deer this year with that very broadhead. I finally got the text that a nice doe gave him a shot and he made good with that broadhead and his Centaur.

My buddy Darren had to head home, but Dennis and I had a few more days to hunt. Last Wednesday evening a nice buck came trolling by him and he made a beautiful shot on a perfect eight pt. with the same broadhead that went through his leg and the doe!

I had been passing young bucks all week, but had not had a shot at anything that made me "smile" yet.
I hunted till Thursday evening and had decided to try and kill another doe, as we were headed home Friday morning. At 1632 I heard a crunch behind me and turned to see a nice buck coming up the trail. He gave me an 18 yard shot and I'm very thankful to have him. All in all, the best trip i've experienced. And by the way, he made me "SMILE"!!!
