"Took a little hike..."
More accurately, "Was subjected to a forced march...". I'm awake at this unholy hour because my legs are cramping. What Randy didn't say in his post is that those 7.28 miles were 1) in rain 50% of the time, 2) on 2 track trails that were rutted and filled with boot-sucking mud or 3) across expanses of grass and weed choked river bottom where said grass is thick, laid flat, soaked from the rain and wrapped around one's ankles with every step.
In other words, we spent a great day outdoors!
Saw plenty of sign. I heard one squeal with 15-20 minutes of light left, but didn't have a good opportunity to get downwind. I talked with a couple of guys who spend a lot of time deer hunting there (last truck in parking area Randy - they walked up as I was pulling out) and they manage to kill a bunch of hogs each season while set up on deer. They agreed with Randy that after the pressure from deer hunting wanes, the hogs will get a little less skittish.
It's gonna be a great time guys!
