Well as crazy as it is I think I will take my bow with flu flu arrows and go on some public land in central Ohio and fling some arrows. Somehow I doubt my sucess on harvest but I know my success on having fun will be off the charts! Have a happy thanksgiving everybody!

That sounds like a blast. But our pheasants get hammered in the gun seasons and there aren't to many hold overs. We just got fresh snow so I might go give it a whirl. Worse case scenario maybe bunny busting and tree rats! Happy Thanksgiving to all.

You are definitely a little crazy but you are in good company here. Lots of us here have been successful on pheasants so good luck. If you can make it out today or even before your hunt tomorrow, take the time to shoot at some clay pigeons with your bow. Whether you have shot aerials or not, clay pigeons are excellent practice for pheasant hunting.

Do you have pointing dogs? I'm a big pheasant hunter and can see it done over dogs but would be really impressed with someone who could shoot a wild flushed bird.

Sounds like a lot of fun that just is hinting of lots of shooting as well. Here in Upstate New York we don't have a wild pheasent population, just the ones DEC raise and release which do not last once the gun hunters get at them. We do however have grouse and I do have a blast hunting them with bow and arrow. Good luck and let us know how you makeb out.

I hunted with two traditional guys in Northern Wisconsin this October. They used their recurves hunting woodcock and grouse. They did not get one this time but last year they both killed woodcock on the wing. Heck some of the cover we were in I could not get my shotgun to my shoulder let along think about shooting an arrow. By the way they were shooting arrows with Snaro points. They did shoot released quail with the bow on the wing.
