I am completely floored by all the of the quality info on this site!

A little background:
I started to shoot a bow in 4-H the mid 90s.  Bought a nice Showshoe bow in Montana shortly after and was self taught from then on...  Killed several elk and then wounded one (2008) that I never recovered.  A huge psychological problem after that and put the bow down.

Starting to get the itch for intimacy with game again and found this site.  An incredible amount of information and I apologize in advance for dumb questions.

Thank you for all of the knowledge that I have and will glean.

Welcome to the Gang!

I would love to kill just one elk before I die!

Welcome, Clinton!  Many of us have had similar experiences: taken some game and then wounded and lost one.  We all have to deal with this in our own way, hopefully by becoming better hunters so it is less likely to happen again.  We know we can't recover every duck we shoot at, or every fish we hook, but somehow the larger mammals impact us more. Which is as it should be.

Good hunting and shoot straight!
