I screwed up ! In need of long arm guard?
« on: November 30, 2014, 11:08:00 AM »
Guys I killed a big doe Friday pm, then Saturday am , had a buck come thru, had him dead to rights at 15 yds and hit my sleeve right above my arm guard, clipped his front leg right below his chest. Doe they still make them long pull on sleeves to compress your layers? I think I remember seeing someone like realtree had one?

I haven't seen them for sale in quit some time but I haven't been looking for them either.

Take a knee high sock that's old and cut it off just above the heal and bingo!

Yep, they still make them.  I recently gave one to a friend to use with his ghillie suit.  My wife also uses one occasionally, depending upon how heavy she is dressed.

Yes they still make the realtree sleeves... I seen them at walmart this season. I have done what others have said...cutting the sock..and used the rubber bands. But this year I started putting a pretty snug long sleeved t-shirt on as my outer most layer...and it seemed to get everything out of the way.

X2 on the rubber bands.
I recently learned that the sleeves of my favorite plaid shirt could be caught like that, thankfully during a little stump shooting on my way out of the woods.

I actually stole a couple of my wife's hair bands that she left around the shifter in the truck the other day, they work alright too(and it seems they are always around, between her and the two other girls)

Probably could just buy a pair of those long soccer socks. That should work.

Thanks Guys, I might take you up on it Ray. I will see what I can come up with. It was how the sleeve bunched up behind the arm guard and the fact that in the heat of the moment, I forgot to keep my arm bent !

MAL makes a good long leather armgaurd, if that one isn't long enough maybe your form is off.

You can order the realtree sleeve online if you can't find it locally.

yup... i prefer the thicker ones that are more like tights.  I think they call them "Support hose" ...

Ask your wife bro... She can probably fix you up. Just don't get caught rooting around in her panty drawer without asking... That's BAD.      :scared:
