Great Northern quiver and antler knobs...
« on: November 30, 2014, 07:54:00 PM »
I have a Schafer Silvertip coming soon. I want to use a Great Northern limb bolt quiver, but I'm not sure I'll be able to with the antler bolt knob. Anybody else try this? Will it work?

Don't have a Silvertip but they don't work on my takedown Tall Tines with the Quick Mount adapters. The knurled takedown knobs work with them but you have to use the ones that are smaller in diameter for longbows.

I asked Dave Windauer about them and he was concerned about how much thread is connecting the limbs.  I'd call Schafer

I had the same problem, loving both the Pro Quiver and antler knobs. 2 solutions or we press Bob Brumm to design the receivers a little longer or we find someone that can build narrow antler knobs.

I gave Bob one of my extra antler burrs from TallTines this summer so he could adapt the brackets to them. I'll check in and see what the status is.

Not going to happen fellas. To accommodate the antler burrs would require an entirely new die and they are way too expensive to justify for the limited numbers that would want them.

Whatever happened to the plastic "washers" that were the first connections?  Never had any issues with mine... Yeah you couldn't take your quiver off if strung but I always left the quiver on...

I bought a used Quick Detach GN quiver from somebody here awhile back.   It came with the standard attachment, but also another set of standard washers and bezels that had been altered.

The altered set has a hole drilled through the side of it that you insert the wire ends from the quiver, then it is secured when you tighten the limb bolts.  No longer quick detachable, but very secure and cleaner looking than the original attachments.
