My new "Old Man's" Vixen
« on: December 04, 2014, 01:43:00 PM »
Most everyone in their life experiences the need to drop down in draw weight with their bows. I'm no exception. I've sold a few of my heavier bows to folks that I know will enjoy them as much as I did.

That said, James Berry has (I think) done well to sooth this old man's ego. My new 46# Vixen arrived yesterday and let me tell you, performance wise, it will not and does not take a back seat to any 55# I've ever had. Looks pretty sharp besides.

Brown glass on the back, clear glass over sister yew laminations on the belly, bamboo core with an exposed rosewood riser. Eye candy follows:

Now I know what combo my Morningstar is going to have when my name comes up on JD's list. I was thinking brown glass and yew, this confirms it! Very nice!!

Danny,
Your not lying, James absolutely nailed this bow. It is so sleek, dark, and classy.
Man I'm jealous! I should have a new vixen arriving shortly and now I'm even more stoked

That's a "good looken" bow there Danny. Yew is one of my favorites. Nothing wrong with lighter lbs, just means you can shoot longer with out getting tired.

Thats gorgeous! And 46# sure isn't backing down too much. I really like that wood combo as well. I can't wait to see your results from shooting it!

My god that's a nice looking bow,old school all the way.I had a chance to shoot some lighter bows this summer and like you I'm totally convinced these lighter bows are the way to go,especially for these aging bones LOL.james sure hits the nail on the head with his bows.

Welcome to the club. It sure beats shooting less.

And what a beautiful bow. My Morningstar (same weight) is absolutely the quietest bow I have ever shot, and most of mine are pretty darned quiet.
