To be honest, I was starting to get a little worried. She was heading for the border of the property I can hunt, and she'd gone too far now to be hit like I thought.
But the blood was still steady, not as strong as before, but still very good....I continued...
Another 100yds and over the hill I see a deer standing, and thru bino's I can see she has bloody front legs!!!
Within seconds I see her "plop" down, she's about done...
•
She's wavering side to side, carrying her ears low, and her tail is randomly flipping wildly. I wanted to walk away as I hate to watch an animal die...
But at the same time I didn't want to lose sight of her if she managed to get up and walk....even though I doubted she would....I stayed to keep her in sight...
I asked for this to be over a quickly as possible...
A short time later, she weakly got to her feet, stumbled.....and fell dead....I gave thanx....

She was a great looking deer...

1 1/4" VPA...
•
I was so thankful it ended positively, just wish the shot had been better, she deserved a quicker death....
I'd hit her a bit further forward than I thought....right on the point of the shoulder and angling into the base of the neck above the brisket....honestly, I got lucky!
28years behind a trad bow and I still can't get enough...
