I've still got one i built that has a click in it.

Wild looking set of limbs that i air brushed flames the full length of the limbs too. But... i broke a string on the tiller tree at full draw and it broke something loose in the core. Nothing you can see at all from the edge, but it has a built in clicker at about 23 inches of draw.

On top of that i was trying out a new phenolic material for the riser... Beautiful stuff to work with, and it finished out nice.... only problem was....every time the temperature changed, the riser would move and throw the limbs out of alignment..... Crap i say!

So "the bow that really clicked for me" is a wall ornament in the shop.... check this paint job out.

I was at Mike Dunaway's , Wildhorse Creek bows, and just picking up bows that were hanging on the rack. I picked up one of the Hawks and, after shooting it some out back, went home with it.   :)
I have an assortment of other bows but I shoot the Hawk the most.

62" Tall Timbers longbow 45@28 made in Fordland, MO. I'm over 70 and shoot this bow better than any I've owned.

My custom made Cheetah blank 65" 48 lb at my draw length. I have other bows that shoot well for me like the GN Bushbow and my Howatt- Martin Bushmaster, but by and large I shoot the Hill bows with the straight grip the most consistently.

I once picked up a 56" G&L Mantis Long Bow. Marked 52 lbs at 28". I draw just shy of 29".

I saved up for a  year and finally paid the 300 bucks for it.

It just seemed I was hitting everything I pointed it at. I am still loving this bow to this day.

The bow in my signature. I've been looking for a take down that's as nice for almost a decade now just to make travels easier.  I liked it so much that I traded my compound bow for a custom skinning knife of my design, bushcraft/camp/woods knife, and am working on a full set of game calls to match it.

This is a 1-piece Habu Mamushi. It is 49#@26", very smooth, quiet, and with a terrific feeling grip. The bow was built in 1999.  I'm currently hunting with it which makes it my favorite at this time.

An ultimate Bob Lee has also been to the woods this year; 60" and 56" limbs.

For me... its a toss up between the vintage 58" Red Wing Hunter, 60" 1968 Bear Kodiak Hunter and the various 52" Bear Kodiak Magnums. They all fit my hand like a glove and shoot right where I look. I have owned and shot various customs over the past few decades, but these classic mass produced bows are just perfect for hunting as far as I am concerned.

My best hunting bows have not always been the ones I shoot best.  They have been the ones that hit more-or-less where I want when I get kind of excited and throw a flyer.  Happens to me a lot when hunting, and it's the reason I love my Pronghorns.

For me it's without a doubt my Black Widow PLX it's 60# @ 28" and I draw right at 27.5" It is so sweet, quiet, and smooth on the draw and just shoots perfect for me. My close second would be my  Tomahawk Diamond series SS which is 55# @ 28".

I have several bows that might fit here but the one I will pick is my Kodiak Deluxe...with a 31 inch draw I like the 64 inch length...that bow just feels right for me...and with the BCY-X string it currently wears it is dead silent...the fact that it looks amazing is a bonus

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

My very first Zipper. Bill Dunn's bows just seem to fit me the best. As you can see by my signature, I have added a few more of his bows too.   :D

66 inch 68 # quillian longhunter  nothing else comes close

I sold it because I was diagnosed with a aneurysm and the cardiologist told me not to shoot any bow.

I miss it badly and am thinking about buying  Jeffreys version of Dans longhunter in 40 or 45 Lbs

going to talk to the doc net month about it
