I haven't heard much about Lanham in a long time!
I bought one way back in around 1994...it was actually the first custom recurve I ever ordered. Rick was really nice and easy to deal with. His bows had similar lines to the Brackenbury, Wes Wallace, and Blacktail...I think all trained/worked with Jim Brackenbury. Anyway, I liked the bow a lot and it shot well. I was shooting aluminum arrows at the time and it was an easy shooter, quiet and easy to tune.
I honestly ended up selling it because I needed a scapegoat. You see, I made a bad shot on a doe and never recovered her. Then later the same season, I missed three easy shots on three separate bucks...I mean most were chip shots all under 15 yds...and in the end I never did fill my tag that year. It was a lot easier to blame it on the bow than beat myself up over it so I sold it - declared it bad luck :-)
Then, I ordered a Caribow Featherhorn longbow and killed the first buck I shot at with that one which made me feel even better about my decision.
Looking back, I still sometimes wish I'd given the Lanham another chance as it was a nice bow.
