New Bows in 2015
« on: December 19, 2014, 08:27:00 AM »
Expectations may run high and even rampant for new bows that feed our traditional thirst.
The bows of today far exceed my needs, yet anticipation and desires to read of, see and experience remain firmly entrenched within my love of the traditional.

The gestation period for my newest bow is projected to come to a close in January. She is to fulfill an undesirable void in my field arsenal. Am finding myself more often in tight quarters and lost two prime shot opportunities this season, which could have been easily been executed with a bow merely a few inches shorter. She is a well- designed variant of the 56” TimberGhost sculpted by Kent Roberts.

Anticipation is running high for the unveiling of several masterpieces.

May our gifted and dedicated bowyers birth more creations-of-dreams in 2015.

I just added a new Cari-Bow Tuktu EX to my arsenal at the end of 2014...I shoot that bow at 30 inches and 60 pounds and I have ended up shooting Full Metal Jacket Dangerous Game 250 spine full length with 250 grain field point...I only made up one bareshaft test arrow to shoot at about 15 feet in my basement...I was going to put some fletching on it this morning but decided not to bother...I doubt very much the fletching would improve the flight one bit...I like my 600 grain range hunting arrows but I guess there is really nothing wrong with a 900 grain arrow either...sure does make a bow quiet

DDave
I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

Mine came a few days before 2015 ( so technically it is not a 2015 bow as I told my wife...      :D      )
Border black Douglas 64" HEX6.5 W in medium winter time poundage : 58# at my draw. I asked for a 1/8" positive tiller that gives me a quiet bow and a much better shooting.
Nothing fancy ( shedua/ bubinga riser and raw limbs) but that thing is devoted to be a killing machine like his heavier following twin

I bought three new bows in 2014 - I think I need a local support group for 2015.
Everything has a price - the more we accept, the more the cost

Caribow Tuktu ET 53# @ 27 Inches
Thunderhorn takedown longbow 55# @ 27
Lots of James Berry Bows

New Cari-Bow featherhorn coming my way sometime in spring 2015.  Tick, tock, tick, tock...

I'm sort of in the market for a new bow.  I'm evaluating a couple of options. I'm hoping to make it to Kazoo to shoot some of them.

I have not bought a bow in a year and a half. I think if I get on a 1 year waiting list I can brag about not buying for over 2 years.
Relax,

Sounds nice, perhaps some accents of bacote in the riser would really set it off? :-) can't wait to see it.
