The finish is firming up on my new John Schulz longbows. Hopefully the waiting period will not be much longer.

I just received my new 7 Lakes Carolina Night longbow from Mike Ballinger. 68", 59@28, actionboo core with bubinga and spalted maple spliced veneers (from Troy Breeding) under clear glass with a bubinga riser and bubinga tip overlays, it has about 3/4" of reflex. Just a stunning bow that shoots like a dream-very mild mannered, well behaved, and strong shooting. Yes, I did open my present early, or maybe late-my birthday was Dec. 16, I opened it Dec. 22, only a little before Christmas-almost 2015.

I put my name on the list for a Big Jim creation almost 2 months ago so hope to have a bow in hand late spring or early summer. This will be my first custom and only my second traditional bow. Leaning towards a 58" Thunderchild in 53-54 lbs range @ 29. Get exited just thinking about it.

Dryad has revealed a new bait of which I couldn't resist.

Hey Bill,
Is Kirk using the Maple Burl for that riser.
He make one hell of a sweet bow. I'll have to keep an eye out for you shooting it this summer.
If you get it soon enough there will be alot of trad guys at the cabin fever shoot in San Fran. on the 18th.

Hey Pete,,
I'm not sure what maple Kirk used but he said it was rare and he only had enough for maybe two bows?
Is the shoot this month? If so I'm going to miss it. I'm going fly fishing in the Amazon for peacock bass.
An other shoots coming up? Hope to make it to one in NorCal soon.
Bill

You'll have to ask him but if it's the maple I thinking of it started as a choping block on his wood pile. He milled it and came up with some beatiul wood. I have a bow made of it that's looks similar to yours.
Yep, the San Fran thing is this month. Personally is much rather be on your trip. Sounds like a blast .
