That looks like super Exhibition Grade Claro Walnut to me. Absolutely some of the nicest wood I have ever laid eyes on. I believe it is some of the same I got from Bill Tenneson who cut the tree out of his Cherry orchard in Northern Oregon.
God bless, /Steve

Thanks for the kind words Steve and carbonflyr!

Kirk said it looks better in person than the pics he sent.

Not sure how much better it can get.

I initially had other woods in mind but Kirk said he had this real nice piece if walnut that he thought would turn out real nice.  I'm so glad I went with his recommendation!   :)

Darron,

It has been on my mind for several years.  I finally worked up nerve to ask my wife and surprisingly she said yes!

I was shocked but quickly recovered and contacted the guy setting up the trip.

There's about 12 guys coming from all over to meet in Brazil for this trip.  Its gonna be a true adventure!

You guys have no idea how much trouble you rain down on me with a thread like this. All the talk of new bows, especially with pictures, brings out my basic weakness. Now you have me thinking about something new. Like Friend, I have plenty of bows, which more than meet my needs. Yet, it is very easy to convince myself that another one is absolutely necessary. Man, I do like threads like this!

I am pretty certain that I do not need a new bow. I will not be buying a bamboo Schulz it turns out. I will be buying a new limited edition Hill and just may be buying some hunting land.

Of course you need a new bow! We owe it to ourselves and work hard right!? Least that's what I tell my wife! Haha

Got a call from Treadway last week. He's getting started on glueing up my bow. Carbon back with sassafras belly, cocobolo riser. Shooting for 45@31 and 64". He said he should have it ready for delivery at the State shoot here in March...

Many dreams have already been fulfilled this year and clearly see more wonderful treasures moving toward fruition.

My own special TimberGhoat's build starts this weekend.

I just got these bows at the end of 2014,so I still consider them new for 2015. They are both Big Jim's Buffalos.

This last picture does not do either one of these bows justice. I don't know what's wrong with my camera, but both of these bows are gorgeous in person.

Friend,
Kent is building a special timberghost for me as well.  I will do my best to say it like you would.

My anticipation is only abated by the desire for a bow of truely astronomic individuality and craftsmanship.
