Otter pelt into quiver?
«
on:

My dad has a couple otter pelts that are case skinned from this fall. He''s planning on having them tanned professionally, and then have them made into quivers (back quivers i'd assume).
Are there any quiver makers/businesses on here that can do something like that? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I second doing it yourself. The tanning is the only really "difficult" part and you'll already have that done. The rest is essentially just sewing a bag. You can pick up some leather strapping for the shoulder strap. All in all once you have tanned hides you're about 80% there as far as money goes. Good luck, I bet they'll look nice!

I've made a bunch of fur quivers, both back quivers and lakota-style side quivers. I prefer the side quivers for hunting and general roving, but can walk you through the process of making whatever you decide on.

I have always wanted to take a fox hide and turn it into a quiver with the tail hanging from the bottom!
