took my first baby step
« on: December 21, 2014, 04:41:00 PM »
well i got my draw length mesured. it measured at 27". I went to the pro shop, he gave me a recurve and a measuring arrow. he told me to pull back to where my index finger touches the corner of my mouth and the arrow read 27".. So I guess this is a starting point?

I can't wait to actually shoot that first arrow, even though it will not hit were it supposed to, I just want to know what it feels like to actually feel the string in my hand and not through the release.

Becareful, that first arrow could be  very addicting.  (And I never shot a release)

have a blast,
only thing i would say, just google Rick welch's videos on u tube.
not saying you need to go that way- just have a look and see.
when i switched to his style/method of shooting, my accuracy improved dramatically.
but just get out and have fun      :campfire:

Good luck sir, I haven't shot a wheel bow in 5 years and now own 7 trad bows. That first arrow will have you hooked. Have fun. You need any help these guys have awesome insight and loads of experience.

I still get that "first shot" thrill every time I fling an arrow after thousands of shots. I'm sure you will experience the same thing. Good luck with it.
