Well I did everything possible to be scent free and once again the deer win. I am not much for tree hunting and I started hunting from natural  ground blinds. Tonight I was sitting in the heat of central texas about ten yards from my little food plot. The blind is just that, I shoot through a little hole. The deer can't see me at all. I had four does come out right at dark. I started to draw and the wind whirled. Bingo all the deer smelled at once. Well they ran back 20 yards and stamped. They left shortly after that. What Can I do? Ground hunting is humbling

Might want to change blind positions now. Once a mature doe busts you, she doesn't forget where it was.

I've been having the same trouble with my Double Bull this year.  It's like they remember it and associate danger with it.  No matter how good I have it brushed in and all but two of the shooting ports closed they have still been busting me.  It's frustrating, but I will keep trying, hoping one of the dumber ones steps out too far.

You might want to leave the blind you got busted in alone and make another one on a trail leading to you food plot.  Seems like they know danger could be at the plot maybe their guard will be relaxed enough on the way there for a shot.

try using fox, coon cover scent and don't go in the blind for 3 days... it works for me.
