Packing list?
« on: December 27, 2014, 10:49:00 AM »
I have a hunt coming up this fall in Ohio!!!!!

Never to early to start preparing    :goldtooth:

I'm going to start shooting off of my roof to simulate shooting from a treestand, and the local archery shop has a 3D course with an elevated platform to shoot from as well so that should help.

My question is this, what should be going into my truck, besides the standard bow arrows treestand and hunting clothes?

If you're coming to Ohio throw a couple deer in your pack.  With 9 deer limits for past few years our herd is running much thinner than 8-10 years ago.  Happy farmers and insurance companies though.  A climbing stand will be your best friend -- hunt high or find good cover our deer are verrrrrry skittish and get lots of pressure.  Weather early season can be hot or cold so layers will help.  Good luck!  Ps check next years rules for dates of early muzzleloader season. If hunting then you'll need orange and can only shoot does if rules same as this years.

Private or public land?  Those two weeks are very good no matter the weather.

Good beer!  You can leave the Christmas Tree parts at home.  A good stand, well tuned bow, appropriate clothing and you should be fine.
