Stumping with some friends
« on: December 30, 2014, 01:30:00 PM »
Three of us took advantage of a nice clear day to do some stumpng.
The temperature was 18 degrees when we started and 18 degrees when we finished. The snow had a thin crust on it, and when you missed your stump, you went chasing after your arrow.
Next to hunting, stumping, is my favorite past time.
Here are the partners in crime for this morning.

and here is a good dead stump.

I forgot to make the introductions.

That is 'Vintage 45' on the left and 'Ron w' on the right.  'kat' is the good looking one behind the camera.    :biglaugh:    :biglaugh:

Seeing how a lot of the hunting seasons have come to an end I think we ought to start a" stumpin" thread.

Years ago when stumping in the snow I discovered that when you missed, if you went about 3' beyond where the arrow entered (and that is fun in itself, finding that spot) and started looking, you were just about in the right spot.

So what do you say, anybody in for an official "Stumpin" thread?

Photos would be great, but not necessary, weather, temp., who's shooting, what bow,and maybe what arrow and stump killer on the front. Just a couple ideas. Might make the cold months a little more enjoyable.

                                          Good Shooting,
                                                       Craig

Any day stumping is a good day. Still hunting to be done for me, though I really need to get the kids out of the house.

Looks like fun.  No stumps and very seldom any snow where I live.  Plenty of rocks, though.

Stumpin is very enjoyable . This is my stumpin partner and he seems to enjoy it more than I do .
