What do I need on my bow shelf?
« on: December 31, 2014, 11:49:00 PM »
What do I need to put on my shelf. Not using the rest that came on the bow. Mole skin?

Bear hair rest is my favorite
I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6

I use calf hair, but velcro (fuzzy) is used by many.

Good luck and God bless,

Velcro, you can easily peel it off and put on a new one. Plus you can buy a roll and it will last a long time and its cheap.

Velcro works great, but I prefer Bear Hair.

I like loop side of velcro on the shelf and varying thicknesses of leather on the side plate depending upon tuning needs.

So just regular mole skin is not a good idea?

Felt furniture pads work well also. You can buy them in different thickness's to get good arrow flight. Good Shooting,

I use Mole skin over the leather rest that came on the bow. I was busted one time when I drew by bow the sound of the arrow going across the leather is very load when a Bear is 10 yards from ya on a very still afternoon.
Take the long way around.
