Absorkee Quiver from Far West
« on: January 05, 2015, 09:51:00 AM »
Just picked up an Absorkee quiver used on the classifieds. What a well made, heavy duty piece of gear this thing is. I'm really impressed. Can't wait to get out with this on my belt.            Thanks Zippercurve!!

Definitely a great quiver.  Mine is built pike a tank.., but allows me to sneak through brush unlike any other quiver I've tried.

I used one this past season and it works very well. Easy on and off, no hassles. The one thing I wish it had is a piece of leather sewn into the very end with a hole in it so I could hang it on a tree hook. I've seen the belt he sells to wrap around the tree, but a simple piece of leather with a hole in it would work like a charm.

It does carry like a charm with any tree stand, or back pack.

Sold mine, just too heavy for me.
Felt like I was packing a side arm. Well made for sure. Just a bit overkill for my needs.
It's a good day for something.

I can appreciate that sentiment as it is fairly heavy. A necessary tradeoff for its bombproof durability. That is why I actually wear a stiffened gun belt (SOE Gear) while using this quiver.

Looks like a good deal have to give it a try.  The Emigrant looks like the ticket with the extra judo point rider.

Foxbo, here is what I use. Good design, great quiver but
I agree, it's heavy.

Thanks Mack.

My loop doesn't stick out that far. It's more flush with the rear of the quiver, but I can see it would be an easy fix just to tie a piece of nylon rope to the D ring to form a loop which I could use to hang the quiver.

Still, the quiver doesn't hang vertical to the tree with that application. I was referring to just a leather tab sticking out from the end of the hood, with a hole in it enabling the quiver to be hung on the hook, completely vertical with the tree truck.  I like my fletches pointing down. Just the way I'm use to doing it.

Just talked with Tim and we're planning an Emigrant quiver with a sheath for my skinning knife.  All I need now are the "acorns" scrapped together to pay for it.
