I have been shooting goldtip carbons for a while. I like carbon arrows because imo they are more fogiving and indestructible. I shoot around 48/50lbs with 35/55 &175 grain points.

My personal thoughts and quite a bit of field testing....I've found the skinny carbons penetrate much better than any other shaft materials I've used over the years.  The 9/32 diameter definitely helps.

I shoot 45-60 pariot missles, will be switching to a new brand after I use up this run.

to me they seam shoot better, more forgiving, the diameter and carbon(slippery when wet) seam to allow for better penetration.

I use 100 grain brass inserts and 200-220 heads on top of that.

I shoot arrow dynamics trad lite full length with 100 gr brass inserts and 200 grain 2 blades (Grizzly or Ace).  I shoot them from a 53 lb @ 28 rd longbow with d-10 skinny string.  I shoot them because they are indestructable and fly like no other carbon I have ever tested.  I can shoot anywhere from 125 to 200 grain head with no noticeble effect on arrow flight.  They are expensive but they are worth it for me.

Beman Centershot, 3 Rivers Traditional Only, Easton Axis and Carbon Express Heritage are all good choices without totally breaking the bank.  Arrow Dynamics for a high end choice.

I have been shooting Easton Axis Traditional the most last 2 years and love then.  Smaller diameter for less wind resistance, better penetration and closer to center shot.  The traditional and camo ones are a grain per inch heaver than the standard black Axis.

400 or 500 spin depending on the bow with 75 grain brass insert and 150 grain head.  That is enough weight up front for me.  I bare shaft tune by cutting down the length a 1/4" or 1/8" at a time.

I add a colored nock and 3 shield cut feathers and I am shooting straight!

Gold Tip XT Hunter 55/75 black shafts for me.

32" valley of nock to end of shaft

3 - 4" parabloic feathers

100gr brass insert and 150gr point/broadhead

I shoot them because I have them figured out and tuned very well! I am the type that does not tinker once I got something figured out.

I shoot carbons mostly because they are cheaper in the long run, they just about last forever unless you lose it, I shoot 3555;s cut to 30 inches with a 100 grain brass insert and a 175 grain tip, my bow is a 56lb toelke Lynx longbow, I had total penetration on a Bull Moose, pass thru's on several deer, the arrow weighs in at 530 grains.

Carbon for the durability...currently Beman Centershots (I chose them because they are made in USA and smaller diameter than my previous choice) 400 spine, 50 gr insert and 175 gr point/broadheads, 530 gr total weight.  My bow is a 56lb Cari-bow Slynx at my draw.

I shoot carbons because I would spend to much money on replaceing aluminum or wood. I put a lot of arrows through some tuff stuff.
I shoot 1535 gt trads cut to 25 7/8" bop. 50gr insert and 250gr point.

I shoot Easton ACC's in 390 spine full length with  75 grain brass inserts and 125 grain heads. Also have Beman center shots and Easton Trads in 400 spine in the quiver with the same weight inserts and heads. They are fairly close in overall weight, 490 to 515 grains. Shooting out of a Treadway Black Swamp,49@31, and Big Jim Desert Recurve, 47@31. I get awesome penetration and they are super durable.

Beman Centershots .500 cut to 29" BOP. 50 grain brass insert with 175 grain field point. Holds up better than aluminum or wood arrows and have a faster recovery rate out of the bow. The smaller diameter is also a plus.
