How many of you should I "FEAR"
« on: January 08, 2015, 09:39:00 PM »
A wise man once told me that I should "fear the man with one bow".  After meeting many traditional bowhunters in person and online I have determined I have no one to fear including myself!!!

Just curious how many of us really only have one bow on the rack.

Me! I've shot the same bow for over 10 years. The replacement has been ordered, but for the time being just one for me.

I'm down to three from a high of 10 or 12.  But really I only shoot my #1, my Elkheart, with any real regularity since June of this past year so I'm getting closer than I have ever been to being that one bow guy.  I don't regret it.  The 56" 2pc Elkheart is a great bow to be faithful to.  LOL

Does shooting one at a time count?

Shot the same bow for 3.5 years now. I have a dozen or so that collect dust, but only one real shooter.

I usually shot the same bow for one to 3 seasons.  This past year I bought a used Centaur in February and shot 2 hogs at the end of the month.  BY September I bought another used Centaur 4# heavier and shot that for elk hunting and the rest of the season.  Don't see me changing in the near future.  Have about 12 long bows and I'm going to start to thin the herd soon.

I have only one bow (62" Tall Tines)

I used to have a "back up" bow, but have since decided it is silly for me to keep a beautiful bow on a rack all the time...especially since I have only had one bow ever fail on me in 41 years of shooting bows...when you find the bow that fits you like a glove, I see no reason to mess around with others...unless of course, you enjoy playing with different bows...I get no extra thrill from different bows...for me, the act of shooting is so much fun that I never feel a need for a different bow...
I do have lots of arrows though...
Still, there's really nothing to FEAR
Your Chicken from McDonald's, Tyson Foods, or Perdue Farms spent most of it's life stuffed in a cage with three or four others, occupying a space about the size of a book page...None for me, thanks...

I only have one bow that I shoot (64 Howatt Hunter). I have one other bow that I hold onto for sentimental reasons. (Ben Pearson I bought 34 years ago).

I only have one bow that I shoot. I have some older and heavier bows that just sit on the shelf.

I also have one of those old solid glass bows with the molded plastic handle that I picked up for a beater but I don't use it much.

I have a piece of hickory out in the shop that I intend to carve into a bow...

But I only shoot one bow.

Nothing to fear here and not because of the number of bows I have or shoot.

Unless there's a season (on you) or a reason I don't think I'd be flinging any your way...lol

As bowaholic in remission...I am proud of the way I've pared down over the years without a whole lot of the detox effects showing (Not now at least)...lol

Well lets see, I have about 8-10 bows, about 2-4 I never shoot             ( collectables ), so that leaves about 6 bows, when I do shoot them, recurves and long bows, all the arrows do end up in hitting the same place, so yeah I guess you should fear me.

Don't forget, you didn't say the arrows had to hit the target, but they all do end up in the someplace, that's why it's easy for me to dig them out of the ground, and I hardly ever lose any !

P.S. I think some of these guys are pulling your leg, I've seen some of them shoot !

Back in the day when archery was an "on again off again" hobby from about 1970 to the 1980's I had only a Ben Pearson recurve. But when archery came to the forefront of my interests, that changed real quick. Now I have about 6 recurves, 11 longbows, and a couple of primitive bows. I WANT MORE! So, nothing to fear here, that's for sure.

I shoot only one bow. I still have my first "real" bow - an old Stemmler with a twisted limb; shootable, but it just sits on the rack. Also an old lightweight Pearson that I never shoot.
So, pretty much just one bow. Nothing to fear; I'm still learning to shoot this one well.
While I'd like to try more, I can barely afford one nice bow at a time, and I sure like my Javaman Falcon.
