Just my opinion, but AMG quills are to rigid or stiff.

I have used both.  I sand the quills down on any feather I use.  I like them thin.

Grand daughter likes the brighter feathers that AMG offers and you know what they say, kinda, a happy grand daughter is a happy life!!

TrueFlight are the only feathers produced in the USA and their quality is unbeaten.  They are all I use.

I will admit that I have yet to try AMG but I can say that True Flight is better than Gateway. True Flight does a better job of quill prep.

True Flight for "barred" feathers. AMG seems to have brighter colors but I like Gateway flo yellow.
At the price of feathers I shop around according to what the use of the arrows will be.

I've been using the gateway "tre" camo colors lately. I bounce around from different manufacturers.

I do prefer Tru-flight and use them the most, but I have used them all from Gateway,AMG,Sagitarius and Bear Paw.I don't mix them though,I do prefer one brand for the same set of arrows that I would be making up at the time.

I have used both. I find them both to be good quality feathers.
If you are getting them pre-cut, AMG's are a little higher profile.
As others have said, the AMG's colors are brighter, and the quill definitely thicker.

They were less expensive last I bought them, but now I find them often as expensive as, and sometimes more than, the TruFlight's.
Made in the US also comes into play for me. These days I pretty much stick with the TruFlight's, preferring the thinner quills, along with the other factors.

I have used AMG, Gateway, and Trueflight. I have no problems with any of them. The Trueflight are definitely ground the best, but they are a lot higher priced too. I currently use Gateway because I found a bunch in the color I like for $10/100. Needless to say, I bought enough that I will be using Gateway for quite a while!

Tru-Flight for all full length, 5", and 5.5" feathers.  AMG for 3" and 4".  It is true that Tru-Flight is the only "made in USA" brand. That is a situation we really wish would change but don't see it happening.  Quills on AMG are stiffer but we can get away with it on the 3" and 4".

I'll concur that the quills on the AMG are thick and stiff. I prefer true flights, they are on my hunting arrows. The AMG are on practice arrows

I don't like AMG at all..too thick of base.

Tru flight and Bearpaw have been very good to me.
