Jacob just started running baits and setting up stands, blinds, trail cams etc.  this weekend.  First group of hunters coming in another week.   Kind of cold down there right now.  Just talked to him and he said it is in the 30's today.  He is seeing a lot of hog sign at most of the water holes, especially on the Looney ranch.   Wish I was retired already.

Updates to follow as events develop.

Thanks John, I was thinking you started in december. January and February are always long cold months here, even worse with a trip to Texas planned for march.

Heard nothing but good things about these hunts.  Hope the 1st group tells a tale here for us to read.

I went a couple years back and enjoyed it. The bigs did their part, but I didn't do mine. A very cool part of the world to hunt in and more game than you'd think. They run a great camp.

Jacob and John are outstanding guys and will move both heaven and earth in order to make this hunt an outstanding time away. I spent 12 in elk camp with them at 10 000' and nothing was to much bother and you kinda get to know a fella in a wall tent for a spell...

First group had a couple days of cold weather and snow to end their hunt.  Cold weather not the best for hog hunting but you run into that hunting in January sometimes.  7 guys finished with 9 hogs recovered and 1 javelina.  I will not have any pics until Jacob gets home with the goods.

Never hunted with them, but I hunted the Looney Ranch which is part of the property they manage.  It was a very good piece of property at the time.

We have a lot of repeat hunters that come back every year or two.  We will not book any new hunters for next year until our regulars decide if they are coming back. Once we have a headcount of how many are coming back I will post a thread here looking for some new hunters willing to kill some pigs.

I think cold weather with snow success is a function of the terrain.  It can sure concentrate those piggies.  My best hunts ever were in weather like that.  Hope all of the groups have great success.
