Introduction/ my new Omega longbow
« on: January 13, 2015, 12:15:00 PM »
Hi all, just joined the site.  Just purchased my first longbow.  Coming over from shooting/hunting with compounds.  Also, used to shoot a Bear Grizzly recurve.  I will be practicing alot for 2015 fall bow season, will be hunting with the longbow fulltime!! Cant wait!

Here are some pics.  It is a 62" Omega Original, 47# at 29"

Welcome to the fun!  Admiring your bow, and also the serious container it appears to have been shipped in.

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcomes.

Still getting the bow set up. I recently installed some cat whiskers. Ordered nock, nock pliers, and arrows.  Ordered 6 cabelas stalker extreme 55/70 with the 4" feather. Going to leave them full length for now and see how they fly. Will test out both 100 and 125 grain tips. After I get decent ill look more deeply into better arrows, and more in depth tuning.

As for now, really just want to work on my form and consistently.

Remember that kegans bows wayyy outperform their poundage, ive had many of kegans bows and they always spine out as much as 10-12# higher than the weight. Basically, if your bow is #47, id be looking to fit my arrows to a "normal" 55-57# bows. Just a thought from my experiences! Good luck!

Yes the bow is a red oak stain, it sure throws an arrow quick, and is nice and quiet.   Can't wait till the rest of the accessories come in!
