I think I'm with Chuck on this one - mountain goat would be the dream, but I'm not sure if I'll ever be in a position to make that one happen.

However, a realistic one is just to hunt some elk and mule deer out west.  I'll get that done some day.
For we did not follow cleverly contrived myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; instead, we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

Every year I put in for elk, moose and sheep and then dream.  Never been drawn yet, but then I load up all my stuff and go hunt elk in CO with my son, then come back and chase deer locally.  It could be a lot worse, right?

I'd love to hunt any of the above  plus a bear hunt where there are some big ones.

High on a mountain with a Rocky Mt goat within 20 yards.

Alaska after moose or caribou.

Unlimited time and money to hunt, #1.

Mountain Goat also.

I hunted Mountain Goat 33 years ago in Atlin, British Columbia at Lewellyn Glacier. I still remember every second of that hunt. I am 60 and my short and long term memory is going, but that hunt is burned into my mind.

We hunted a mountain overlooking the glacier. It was amazing. We spotted the goats from quite a distance. We climbed over the mountain from the backside and came down on top of the goats once we came over the summit.

As we climbed the mountain I thought I had to be crazy paying to do this. It was a tough climb. At times I thought the guide would have to hammer in pitons and lower me a rope. He climbed that mountain like it was a walk in the park. I remember having to grab small tree branches growing straight out from the rocks.

It was a very difficult hunt but the most rewarding hunt I had ever done. If I had the resources I would be a Goat, Stone Sheep and Dall Sheep hunter.

A home on a couple  200 acres or so of whitetail habitat that I groomed myself. Hunting right out the back door. Good neighbors. Bordering a large track of public land would be nice for days when I want a longer excursion. maybe a military facility nearby where no hunting is permitted so the overflow of deer come to my place.
That would keep me happy.

My Dream hunt would be a Red Stag with my recurve!  Though I'm waiting for my recurve to come in the mail.

dreams consist of traditional Saskatchewan slam, but over that would be some sheep hunting, mtn caribou.

To be honest to be able to do these hunts is more important than the killing for me.

My hunt of dreams?

I'm still working for a deer or pig,

BUT...

Since we're talking "all-time dream hunts" here:

#1:  Kodiak or grizzly at close range.

Other than that,

To take a mountain goat, elk, moose, wolf, or mountain lion in an area where satellite phone is the only option, LOL, would be pretty dang neat.

I agree, the killing itself is just the end result, what I really really want to experience is the pursuit while in the remote wilderness away from civilization where I can rough it and there's that little surivival aspect thrown in   :D

I've kinda always had the idea to save the Kodiak or Grizzly hunt for when I'm at the end of my days and kinda ready for the happy hunting ground LOL if you know what I mean    :biglaugh:

For all you guys that want to hunt brown bear: I used to work with an old guide out of Cordova, AK, that would often wonder how an archer that could "spit" a goose at 50 yards every shot, miss a brown bear at less than 10 yards. Really brings to the forefront what a MENTAL game archery is.

Mine used to be to go moose hunting, but the way things are and keep going I'd really be happy going on a pig hunt or even for sage grouse up in the mountains in the fall when the aspens are a miraculous yellow.  Spruce grouse up north would be awesome as well!  Seems nice anyway and make for some great memories and pictures.  I don't know that I'll ever have the means for moose or elk.
