Newbie Intro
« on: January 16, 2015, 04:02:00 PM »
Aloha Y'all!

I'm a complete newbie on the Big Island of Hawaii.  I just got a Samick Sage LH 35# and, today, shot it for the first time in the backyard.  It felt great and took me back to my childhood shooting with my dad.

I've never hunted but I'll be taking the required Hunter's Ed class in March and hope to hunt some turkeys, goats and sheep in the future.  My father, however, was wildlife manager for the state and had a hand in introducing a number of game birds and started the Mouflon hybridization program.

I'm trying to learn Instinctive style and know it will take time. Today, I shot 70 arrows from 5 yds and a few from 10. My groups were good but I never once hit my focus point. Everything felt good though.

Anyways, I've enjoyed reading all of your posts and decided to chime in.

Aloha, Lonomakana
