I was lucky enough to buy a spot on the waiting list from the TG classifieds. After that I started to decide on which model I would want. I originally was going to do a Chimera with XTL. I looked high and low for some veneers I liked. Went back and forth and ended up purchasing a set from Stalker Bows and he mailed directly to Mr. Neaves. He was great to deal with. I bought 4 veneers and my decision was made. A glass XTL bow.
I wanted Dark Matter in the handle but didn't want to spend the extra $$$. When Jim called he said he could do just the overlay (palm swell) piece in DM and it would increase heft somewhat. Would'nt be near as much $$ as a full DM handle. Jim even surprised me with a Coco strip in the DM. I have an all wood handled Chimera and this bow is just a little heavier. It's nice. Shot the bow yesterday and its just awesome. Not sure its quieter than my Chimera but its definitely not louder and has a different tone. I've read people say this. I haven't started to tune the bow and its shooting very good already.
Jim was a absolute pleasure to deal with. I am so glad I chose Centaur for my first bow made for me. It's a 62" 57@30 which is my draw or 52@28 bow. Cocobolo handle and veneers with a dark matter two tone.
