Ready for October

Took the dog out for a scout of some public land I'm looking to hit this upcoming autumn. Love following the tracks in the snow and seeing where they are feeding, bedding, and easy to spot rub lines. Trimmed up some shooting lanes in a couple blow downs from our heavy November snowstorm and I am ready to get after it. I almost enjoy scouting as much as the actual season. Good luck to all in enjoying the winter scout

Nothing like getting psyched up for deer season, but please enjoy the next 8 or 9 months doing a little stump shooting and maybe a 3D or two

I love October as much as the next guy but... I am having far too much fun missing rabbits. Missed another today by 2 feet.
I do agree though, scouting and stumping right now is a lot of fun.

I also love getting out this time of year and doing some scouting and figuring things out for next year. The 9 months dreaming and anticipation are almost as fun as the hunt itself.

Lots of good diversions between now and next October! We got ice fishing, then the striper run, followed by spring turkey, then all kinds of fishing to be done over the summer, lots of shooting in between all that......not sure how I get any work done lol

Honest question- What was your wife's response to the first time you told her you were going to shoot stumps?! I knew I was in the right place when I saw numerous posts about good days "stumping!" Hopefully I will be able to post pictures of filling my "stump tags" this upcoming weekend.
